Our weather intelligence was correct, it rained all day today.  We get a lot of rain at home, but it rarely rains this hard:

We read, worked out, read and had a very nice dinner at the fancy restaurant here.  When they found out it was our anniversary, they brought us a special dessert:

Tomorrow we will get out of the hotel and explore a little.

Our first day here was nice and sunny.  We hear rain is coming so we did a lot of outdoor things today.  Well, in reality we did very little, we just did it outside.  They have a great pool here and we like to spend time by it when we can.  We sun, read, swim and use the water slide.  And then sun, read, swim and use the water slide.

We’re back in Hawaii for our 30th Anniversary.  It’s our fourth visit to the Hyatt on Kauai.  We flew direct for the first time.  In the past we’ve flown on Hawaiian Airlines to Honolulu and transferred to a smaller plane to Lihue on Kauai.  Now Alaska Airlines flies direct from Seattle to Lihue.  Our flight took almost seven hours and was quite turbulent.  The other issue with this route is arriving around 9:30pm.  But we’re here!
